The Pittsburgh Icemen hockey team was created in the fall of 2003, and founded for two reasons. To work with our communities and take a leadership role in community development activities in the Pittsburgh region, by playing in charity games, and team fundraisers. Second, to play hockey at a competitive level and foster camaraderie between fellow police officers, medics, and fire fighters. These officers donate their time and efforts to raise funds for the teams and organizations we support. We do not ask for anything. The teams that we play keep all funds, or direct them to the charities of their choice
